Nathan Stanfield (b. 1989, California) is a visual artist exploring form with clay. His work explores the connection between density and preciousness, while searching for nuance in moments of brevity. The work is often characterized by its visual weight and heavy impasto application of engobes with aesthetic references being drawn from post-war era artists in a celebration of material. His practice embraces iteration and development, change and experimentation.

His work has been shown and collected across the US. He earned an AA in Printmaking from Mira Costa College and BFA in Sculpture from San Diego State University in 2014. He has been living/working in Los Angeles, CA since 2015 and has recently relocated to Seattle, WA.
